Summary

The Finance Manager (FM) is responsible for the overall management, direction, and integrity of the accounting, finance, systems, and financial reporting functions for all domestic and international business locations within the business unit.

Success in this position requires the ability to build a strong partnership with the Business Unit General Manager and frequent communication with peers and management. These relationships must be built on respect, integrity, cooperation, teamwork and professionalism.

Essential Job Functions

  • The FM actively participates with the Executive Staff in the planning, direction, and policy making for the company and communicates and supports the strategic and operational plans of the business unit.

  • The FM provides direction to the accounting/finance staff and leads departmental initiatives to improve, automate, and simplify current accounting and reporting processes to maximize their efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Reviews monthly consolidated financial statements, apply accounting theory and IDEX policy as appropriate, and insures the timely and accurate completion of all deliverables to IDEX.

  • Responsible for asset preservation and working capital management.

  • Develops a robust internal control framework and insures compliance throughout the organization.

  • Manages talent by selecting, training, motivating and developing the finance staff.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Job Functions

  • Finance record keeping

  • Lead business meetings such as Monthly Business Review, Lead Daily Management, etc.

Physical Activities Required to Perform Essential Functions

Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Accounting or Finance

  • Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible accounting and leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience in reviewing, analyzing, and implementing accounting and financial reporting standards.

  • Solid working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the ability to research and apply accounting pronouncements as appropriate.

  • Advanced PC/ERP/Hyperion experience.

  • Thorough knowledge of SOX requirements.

  • Superior verbal and written communication skills to work effectively in a team environment within and outside of the Accounting Department.

  • Ability to build relationships at all levels within the organization

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills

  • Administrate operations and commercial literacy

  • Strong leadership skills to facilitate team performance in efficient and effective delivery of accounting services; ability to attract and hire top talent; ability to lead and develop the finance team; manage work allocation, training, problem resolution, and performance evaluation.

  • Demonstrates strong Controllership

  • Ability to make tough calls

  • High standard of business ethics.

  • Self-motivated; high bias for action.

  • Willingness and ability to implement effective change management

  • MBA, preferred

  • Commercial experience; prior FPA and costing, preferred
