The Managing Director of Finance and Operations of Bridge Development Fund Manager will report to both the CFO of Bridge Investment Group (BIG) and the CIO of Bridge Development Fund Manager (BDFM). This position is a strategic business partner to the senior executive leadership team. The position will directly oversee all aspects of finance and accounting for ground-up development projects across the BDFM platform and across funds.

General roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Financial Reporting, Budgeting and Forecasting

  • Responsible for the oversight, supervision, staffing, management and operation of the development accounting team, coordination with Bridge Property Management (“BPM”) for property accounting and of all financial reporting, analysis, budgeting and forecasting of the division.

  • Drive financial performance of the organization and provide insight and recommendations to both short- and long-term growth plans of the division.

  • Identify, recommend and implement policies, procedures and establish systems where needed and deemed appropriate by senior leadership.

  • Oversee the month-end closing process to ensure the timely preparation and GAAP presentation of monthly financial reports, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements by division with actual vs. budget analysis, monthly cash flow statements by division; and other management reports as requested. Weekly cash forecasts by division are also required.

  • Work with the BIG tax department to ensure the preparation and timely filing of all federal, state and local tax returns as needed, as well as compliance with applicable regulations related to Opportunity Zones and others.

  • Work with internal BIG teams including acquisitions, development, fund accounting, treasury, and others.

Controls and Technology

  • Work with the BIG CFO to assist with identifying and implementing ERP software; develop a COSO program and ensure that internal controls are in keeping with corporate initiatives; assist with developing the annual corporate internal audit program and enabling the work of the internal audit team.

  • Selection and oversight of software installations, including managing relationships with software vendors.

  • Create new processes that add value and provide insights and transparency.

Accounting Team Management

  • Recruit, interview, and hire finance and accounting staff as required.

  • Oversee training of accounting teams on all accounting systems and projects and supervise proper execution by staff.

  • Hire, develop, and manage accounting directors, managers and staff.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance

  • CPA preferred

  • Big 4 public accounting strongly preferred

  • 3+ years experience as a CFO, CAO or VP of Finance in a publicly traded company or large private company ($25 million+ annual revenue)

  • 10+ years total accounting or finance experience with 10 years in the commercial real estate industry and significant experience with real estate development, construction, and commercial property management companies

  • Outstanding knowledge and understanding of GAAP, SOX compliance with SEC reporting a plus

  • Background coordinating with IT staff to manage and/or upgrade accounting systems (systems implementation experience strongly preferred)

  • Advanced experience with and knowledge of Yardi platform preferred.

  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI and other accounting data mining experience is a plus

  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills

  • Demonstrated leadership ability, confidence and executive presence—ability to motivate staff

  • Excellent analytical, reasoning and problem-solving skills

  • Significant experience working with auditors, internal controls and compliance-related issues

  • Significant experience working with construction lenders and experience with lender requirements and reporting is a plus
