PrincePerelson & Associates VP Finance in Provo, Utah

Our client, a high-growth market leader in the service industry, is seeking an entrepreneurial minded VP of Finance to serve as the lead Finance and Accounting executive for the company, a trusted advisor, and hands-on business partner to multiple service locations throughout the U.S. This person will report directly to the CEO, serving as a key member of the executive leadership team which is responsible for the strategic direction of the company. This person will be a dynamic individual that will drive value by providing thoughtful, strategic leadership and financial expertise. This role requires balancing detailed analysis activities with big picture results.

Key Responsibilities of the VP of Finance:

  • Serve as primary Finance and Accounting leader and hand-on business partner

  • High level of involvement in operations, processing and pricing strategies

  • Oversee the month-end close process and project monthly financial performance

  • Prepare variance analysis reports, manage budgets and profitability analysis

  • Manage banking relationships and all company treasury functions

  • Support the audit process and serve as primary point of contact for external audit teams

  • Manage a small team of qualified finance and accounting professionals

  • Provide valuable insight, guidance and strategic leadership to the executive team

Requirements of the VP of Finance:

  • CPA, MBA strongly preferred

  • BS Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business required

  • 5+ years prior finance and/or controllership experience, preferably within a service based industry

  • Prior experience managing, developing and mentoring a team of professionals

  • Strong understanding of US GAAP, audit procedures, budgeting and forecasting

  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills and a customer service-focused mindset

  • Exceptional analysis skills; detail-oriented with ability to multi-task and manage shifting priorities

  • Well-rounded in working with diverse individuals across the country, at all levels of experience

  • Strong computer skills: advanced Excel capabilities, QuickBooks and proprietary systems
